Makulaku's Metrilaku, loved by the whole nation, is sold at public events, fairs and markets throughout Finland, and now also in Suomikauppa!

Ingredients: Sugar, Molasses, flour, glucose syrup, vegetable fat (shea, coconut), stabilizer (E422), gelatin, licorice extract, salt, acidity regulator (E330), flavors, colors (E160a, E153), vegetable oil (rapeseed, sunflower), surface treatments (E901, E903).

Nostalgic, but could be better, mixed quality in the bag

I couldn't find any information about the expiry date or packaging date on the bag, which was disappointing. While some of the liquorice pieces were perfectly fine and brought back fond memories of Finnish autumn markets where I used to buy these as a child, others were dry and crumbled into bits.

Unfortunately, the most concerning issue was finding a long, reddish, curly hair in the bag. By the time I discovered it, I had already eaten most of the liquorice, so I discarded the rest. This was quite off-putting and left me questioning the product's quality control.

In the future, I think I'd prefer the Makulaku Markkinalaku sweet bag. It may not evoke the same nostalgia, but it offers a more consistent and reliable experience.
