Helsingin Villasukkatehdas, Wool socks sheep's wool (70%), several colors and sizes

25,90€
Description

Helsingin Villasukkatehdas is the only traditional wool sock factory in Finland. The tradition of Finnish textile manufacturing is maintained there. At the Helsinki wool sock factory, I value Finnish work above all, and we consider a good and peaceful working atmosphere to be our pride. We believe this is a prerequisite for uncompromising quality. The production combines faithful knitting machines from the 50s with precise craftsmanship. The end result is a wool sock that fits the Finnish foot very well, is resistant to heavy wear and very warm.

Traditional carded wool sock:
Material: 70% sheep wool (mulesing-free), 30% polyamide
The wool comes from New Zealand and is spun into yarn at Pirtin Kehräämö in Jämsä. Wool socks are dyed in the small family business PMK Värjäämö in Kyröskoski. Wool socks are made from start to finish at the Helsinki Wool Socks Factory in the Roihupello industrial area in Helsinki.

Wool socks washing and care instructions
One of the good natural properties of wool is dirt resistance. Clinging dirt usually comes out of wool socks well, especially when dry, and often just shaking and airing is enough to treat it.

However, woolen socks that are in active use should also be washed from time to time, either by hand or in the machine.

Washing instructions for wool socks
Machine wash at 30 degrees and a short spin is perfect for our wool socks. We recommend using a ph-neutral detergent (pH 7).

When washing by hand, the washing and rinsing water should be the same temperature, below 40 degrees.

Large changes in temperature between hot and cold water and strong rubbing can make the wool felt.

It is good to shape wool socks when they are damp and dry them at a low temperature. We do not recommend drying wool socks at more than 70 degrees, e.g. on a hot radiator, in a sauna or too close to a campfire.

Thanks to its breathability, wool dries quite quickly even without high heat.
