Transport insurance terms last updated on 14.7.2026
1. Subject of the Insurance
The insurance covers the transports specified in the terms as well as the goods according to the insurance conditions.
2. Price of the Insurance
The price of the transport insurance is €5.90, unless otherwise stated.
3. Validity of the Insurance
The insurance is valid for one (1) transport, starting from the handover of the goods to the carrier and ending upon delivery of the goods to the recipient.
4. Coverage of the Insurance for Goods
The insurance covers loss or damage to goods during transport in the following situations:
• Theft
• Fire
• Transport accident
• Water damage
• Other unexpected and sudden damage
• Product breakage
• Product melting (e.g., chocolate)
5. Compensation Amount for Transport Damage to Goods
In damages as described in section 4, the full value of the damaged products will be compensated. Products are compensated only if the customer has complied with the company's general order and contract terms.
The maximum compensation amount for goods under the insurance is €500.00 per shipment.
6. Coverage of the Insurance for Delivery
The insurance covers delays, loss, or damage during transport in the following situations:
• Theft
• Fire
• Transport accident
• Water damage
• Other unexpected and sudden damage
• Product breakage
• Delivery delay
7. Compensation Amount for Transport/Delivery Other Than Delay
In situations described in section 6 (excluding delays), compensation corresponds to the full delivery fee of the shipment.
The maximum compensation amount is €500.00 per shipment.
8. Compensation Amount for Transport/Delivery Delay
The insurance compensates for delivery delays under the following conditions. The estimated delivery date provided by the carrier is used as the basis for delays.
Economy and Pickup Point Services:
1 day = 25% of the transport fee portion
2 days = 50% of the transport fee portion
More than two (2) days = 100% of the transport fee portion
Express/Priority Services:
1 day = 50% of the transport fee portion
2 days = 100% of the transport fee portion
The maximum compensation amount is €500.00 per shipment.
9. Deductible
There is no deductible in the insurance.
10. Exclusions
The insurance does not cover damages resulting from:
• Normal wear and tear or deterioration
• War, rebellion, riot, or similar events
• Natural disasters and other natural phenomena
• Delays and damages caused by the customer's own actions
• Delays caused by customs processing
• Force majeure events
11. Claims Procedure
In case of damage, the policyholder must immediately notify the insurer and provide the necessary documentation and receipts according to the insurer's order and contract terms.
12. Termination of the Insurance
The insurance ends automatically when the transport ends. The policyholder has no right to a refund if the insurance is terminated before the transport ends.
13. Other Terms
The insurance is valid only for deliveries of goods specified in the terms when the insurance has been purchased before the order is shipped.
14. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution
Any disputes will primarily be resolved through negotiation, and if no solution is found, disputes will be handled in the courts of the insurer’s domicile. The applicable law is Finnish law.
