U.S. customs regulations changed on August 29, 2025. All orders from Suomikauppa.fi to the United States are now subject to customs duties. On this page, you will find everything you need to know about what this change means for your orders.
What is changing?
Starting August 29, 2025, the United States charges a tariff on all incoming shipments, regardless of their value. This also applies to orders placed from Suomikauppa.fi. From now on, customs duties (tariffs) are always shown at checkout alongside product and shipping costs.

There you can see prices in U.S. dollars, and starting August 29, customs duties are clearly itemized at checkout. The total cost of your order is shown before payment, so there are no surprises upon delivery.
You don’t need to deal with customs clearance or taxes. We handle those on your behalf, and delivery will proceed as smoothly as always.

Yes! We still deliver to the United States just as before. The only change is that, starting August 29, 2025, all orders include a customs duty (tariff), but the process has been made as easy and transparent for you as possible.
A tariff is a customs duty that the United States charges on all shipments arriving from abroad starting August 29, 2025. In practice, this means that every package ordered from Suomikauppa.fi will be subject to a U.S. customs fee. Beginning August 29, 2025, you will pay this duty directly at checkout.
The amount of the tariff depends on the product’s country of origin and category:
Food products: All food products in the Suomikauppa.fi selection are subject to a fixed 15% tariff. This applies to items produced both in Finland and elsewhere in the EU.
Products manufactured outside the EU: If the product’s country of origin is outside the EU (for example certain gift items or household goods), the tariff may be significantly higher. You can see the country of origin on each product page.
Exceptions: Some aluminum and steel products, such as kitchenware, fall under the steel tariff, which is 50%. These tariffs are also automatically updated at checkout, so you will always see them before completing your payment.
