Northern lights and reindeer T-shirt

The origin of the northern lights was a great mystery for a long time, but thanks to science, we now have a good understanding of their origin. In the 18th century, scientists Halley and Celsius tried to find out the origin of the northern lights, but a full understanding of the origin of the northern lights was not achieved until the 1950s. The northern lights are created when particles carried by the solar wind from the sun hit the Earth's atmosphere. Charged particles excite oxygen atoms, nitrogen molecules and hydrogen atoms in the Earth's atmosphere, which in turn causes the light phenomenon in the night sky.
