Kallio, Tero & Saira, Kimmo: Simply Scandinavian (in English)
Simply Scandinavian is not a traditional cookbook in the usual sense of the word, as the recipes in the book combine the past and the present in many places. Even the most modern recipes in the book have tried to be faithful to Finnishness. Even if the way of serving is borrowed from Japan, all the ingredients are native to Finland. The recipes are also given a distinctive feature by the abundant use of beneficial plants, such as dandelion, birch sap and fox bread. The portions and recipes in the book are presented according to the seasons, which can be seen e.g. in the selection of raw materials and the illustrations of the portions.
