The towel is made of terry cotton containing 65% organic cotton and 35% recycled cotton. The recycled fibers come from closed-loop production, where textile waste generated during the production of Marimekko's collections is used as raw material for new Marimekko products.

Unikko, symbolizing creativity, was born at a time when floral patterns were hardly seen in Marimekko's collections. However, Maija Isola got inspired by the flower theme and decided to design a whole series of new floral patterns.
